Today" offers a current issue of Chronicle in abbreviated version with Job

RISE (Resources for Involving Scientists in
Education - Jointly sponsored by NAS, NAE, and the Institute of Medicine,
presents information on roles scientists can play in education.

Sense About Science - An
independent charitable trust promoting good science and evidence in public
debates, using an evidence-based approach to scientific issues. Response is to
the misrepresentation of science and scientific evidence on societal issues,
from scares about plastic bottles, fluoride and the MMR vaccine to
controversies about genetic modification, stem cell research and radiation.
Recent and current priorities include MRI, chemicals, detox, peer review and

Detection Protection - From the American Museum of Natural History, an
online magazine designed to make learning about microbes fun. Sections include
"Meet the Microbes;" "Bacteria in the Cafeteria," "How Lou Got the Flu," and
the "Mixed Up Microbe Mystery," which lets players act as epidemiologists.

(ICDL) - Developed by the Internet Archive & the University of
Maryland's Human-Computer Interaction Lab, this freely available site aims to
provide direct & global access to quality content for children ages 3-13.
Available to children worldwide, the ICDL will ultimately consist of over
10,000 children's books drawn from 100 cultures.
